The national SIng Up initiative helps schools get staff and children singing.
Sing Up website The Sing Up website at www.singup.org is a fantastic resource for schools. It includes a songbank with nearly 300 songs all chosen for their relevance to primary singing. Each song includes several different audio tracks to help teach, and hone perfomance skills, and also a wealth of other teaching resources including lyric sheets and teaching tips. Additionally the site includes many other useful resources, including information about CPD, Sing Up Awards and much more. Sing Up Awards All primary schools should consider applying for a Sing Up Award. The entry level is Silver Award, followed by Gold and Platinum. for example, to achieve Silver status, schools will be asked to provide examples illustrating the following: • Headteacher & governors endorse the decision to apply for the Awards • Pupils sing in every class more than twice a week & whole school sings together at least once a week • Staff encouraged to get involved in singing and at least 2 staff are confident to lead singing • Whole school community - Families & visitors can get involved in singing activities & singing supports • The School Development Plan & is included in the SEF For more information about Sing Up Awards click here . Sing Up CPD Details of the Sing Up CPD programme, including sessions in London and the South East. can be found at: www.singup.org/training/ |
